The Prompt: "An old man appearing in his early 80s, Kim is 4’10 with a medium-length gray beard and wrinkly skin. He has grey eyes and, when taking off his cowboy hat, is bald. He wears his old mining clothes and boots, carrying a pickaxe that has seen better days. He’s also missing a few of his teeth, most likely from old age."
I started with sketching a series of faces for Kim, as well as outlining various body types. After the patron clarified the physical characteristics of the ‘unhinged look’ they were seeking for Kim (large open eyes with small irises), Head 18 was chosen.
After a body type was settled on, I developed several outfits for Kim. Outfit 03 was chosen and developed further.
The next task was the face and hair palettes.
Once the patron had chosen their preferences for Kim, the final line and color designs could begin.
I developed a series of avatar icons, featuring Kim wielding his pickaxe.
